Biography

Dr. Irby grew up in the beautiful mountains of southwest Virginia before attending college at University of Virginia, majoring in biomedical engineering. Following in his father and uncle’s footsteps, Dr. Irby attended Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry. He then completed an optional General Practice Residency program in Asheville, North Carolina to gain experience in more advanced dental procedures.

Dr. Irby is committed to offering his patients modern dental treatments that are more comfortable and more reliable than those of the past. He attends numerous continuing education meetings each year, with a particular focus on digital dentistry and implant dentistry. In 2019 Dr. Irby completed the Stanley Institute Implant Course Continuum and was awarded Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). Dr. Irby has completed greater than 100 hours of continuing eduction specifically related to dental implants.

Dr. Irby is an active member in the Roanoke Valley Dental Society (RVDS) and serves as the 2019-2020 treasurer of the organization.

In addition to dentistry, Dr. Irby enjoys being outdoors and spending time with his wife Suzie and trail-dog Ryder. His hobbies include mountain biking, rock climbing, and watersports. Dr. Irby and family choose to live in Roanoke because of the ample opportunities for outdoor adventures, great access to tasty restaurants and breweries, and friendly mountain-town community.

Dr. Irby has a passion for helping his patients achieve healthier smiles and is excited to join Dr. Ramsey on Franklin Road.
